Long time no post. Oh my goodness. Life is hectic now I am back at work. Not enough hours in the day to do regular blog posts.
Training is still going. I have had healthiness the last 7 weeks and that has really affected my training for the last 2 weeks.
My bike speed is increasing nicely and is sitting steadily in the high 23k/h range. I am hopeful of a high 25k/h by June 2016. Running has suffered over the last 2 weeks but I hope to get back on top of that in the next week or so.
I don't have any current photo's or anything to share at the moment so this is a short and sweet post to let you all know that I am still alive and kicking.

Monday August 24 2015
Hhmmm, where am I? Last Wednesday-I need to go back and check what I had scheduled for that day. I know I was so sore I could hardly bloody move. So fucking sore. I mowed at the pool...ride on...and even that hurt. Then I had to rake. Have you seen how big the pool grounds are? That took hours. Hours I tell you!!
Anyway, Let's talk about training. Thats right, Wednesday, a 5k run. There was some walking. Not a lot but some. I was very happy, overall, with the time given how sore I was from PT the day before.
So yes, it is still slow. But I know on fresh legs it will be faster and it was really only 7 minutes slower than my target 5k time of 35 minutes (for now...20-25 minutes later)
Thursday was supposed to be a 60 minute ride. I say supposed to be because I missed it. I have been using Thursdays for a sleep in day and I convinced myself that I would do the ride later in the day but I knew deep down that wouldn't happen as I had so much to do in preparation for the RollaCoaster ride on the weekend. Lesson learned. I have to train straight up in the mornings. Get up and do it or to won't get done. I start work next week and fitting the training in is worrying me but I am committed to seeing this through and I really want it. I really want it!!
Friday was a brick session. For those that don't know a brick session is a cycle followed by a run off the bike. It is to get used to running legs that are tired from cycling. My legs felt like lead. So heavy. I had picked my bike up the week before from the bike shop in Bowen but not ridden it yet. MISTAKE!! The gears were still stuck. Was able to change form the small to big ring on the front and THAT WAS IT. I was so annoyed. I finished my ride regardless, all the while thinking of how many ways I was going to stick my bike up old mates arse. Anyway here are the stats from the ride, run.
So the things I was happy with here are that my ride speed is picking up quickly. optimistically looking to be riding at about 25k/h by race day, faster would be even better. The other thing is that my run was still OK. There was walking. And as I was walking past Vinnies, gasping for breath, wanting to turn around and go home, one of the Vollies told me I should be running. I wanted to say something but couldn't breath and started running again at the fire station. If you look back at my previous brickstats you will (or should) notice that even though I was walking at times, I still completed this faster than previously. It's a work in progress.
I got home from my run, went to the loo, rang 'The Husband' while I was in there and told him I was taking my bike back to Bowen. I was still angry. On the road by 8am still in my stinky exercise gear. Surprisingly I wasn't rude at the bike shop. Who'dathought? Just told the pimply faced kid that it still wasn't working and to please fix it. Replace what ever need to be replaced with the same brand parts that were already on the bike. (Ultegra. Good parts) By the time I got back to Collinsville (10.25) They had rung Brett and told him the bike was ready. WTF? Brett accused me of being rude. I wasn't. I swear to God!! Brett asked them had they replaced anything, "no" well if the de-railieur needs replacing then do it. The bike is still in Bowen. The shit thing about all this is that this was the first ride I had enjoyed, EVER. So I look forward to getting back on my bike.
Today was a 7k run. 1 min sprints followed by a 2min jog. Not a fucking hope in hell. 3 sprints, with walks in between, then just 60 sec runs at whatever speed I could manage followed by 2 minute walks. There was one spot in the 3rd k that I missed a 1 min run and you will be able to see that when I post the stats now-

I was relatively happy with this even though I didn't do what was required. I have never done a Scottville turnaround so fast. Even better was I can see what Naomi is trying to achieve with the training. At the end of the day I am a work in progress, but you know what I need to do right.........
'TRUST THE PROCESS'

Tuesday August 18 2015
I had an epiphany yesterday-This Bitch is never satisfied. Never happy with results. Always thinking I should be able to do better. Do more. Run further. Faster. Lift heavier. Swim faster. Then I thought about my list of goals that I AM going to be able to tick off this year. With the exception of actually completing a 10k run in an event, I will even be able to tick run 10k off my list by December 31. I decided I have to "Trust The Process".
I twisted my knee at the gym last Tuesday, did my hill runs and class on Wednesday but it was niggly so I rested it until yesterday. Yesterdays program required a 1-2k warm up and then 60 sec run/ 2 min walk for as many as I could and a 1-2k warm down for a total of 7k in 1 hour.
I was initially happy with this when I got home, but by the time I was out of the shower the above had happened.
This morning was my PT session in Bowen. On the drive down I was thinking it would be good if Kylie gave me something different today and guess what? She did. FARK!! It was tough. Tomorrow is going to suck in so many ways.
This afternoon I finally took 'those photos'. There is no need for any negative comments thanks very much. If you feel the need to make a negative comment best you stop following this blog and fuck right off.
I'm not proud. But thank the Lord I didn't decide to do this a year and a half ago. Can you imagine? But I have found incentive to drop 10kg so I can wear this gorgeous number for Girls Night In at the end of October.
Even though I have another costume I could wear, I love this one. This is THE ONE I intend to wear. I swear!!
And if I ever needed confirmation that I need to "Trust The Process" it is in the following photo. They were taken 9 months apart.
Tomorrow morning see's me with a 5k run and boxing in the afternoon if my shoulders will work.

Oh what a week so far. Monday's run was so fucked. I was pathetic. Some days are diamonds and some days are stone. Monday was stone. There was running, but not enough. Nowhere near 5k. The problem is, that I played catch up all week last week. I changed my rest day from Sunday to Saturday. I did Monday's run on Tuesday before a big PT session and tried to then play catch up all week to fit shit in. I have to stop doing that.
My PT yesterday was horrible. My effort was good but it was a shit session. I am sore today but I don't feel as though my session was that great that I should be having soreness.
This morning I had hill runs. 10 x. It was fucked. It is always fucked. ( x at 2/3 of the way and 1 x at all the way. The problem now is because I have made it to the top once, I need to make it to the top twice. The pressure is real people. My lovely friend Tricia joined me this morning as we crossed paths as I was on my way to Logan St. Tricia is amazing and I love her to bits. She did 5 x hills to the very top, and then continued to walk while I finished.
I was supposed to pick my bike up in Bowen yesterday but it wasn't ready. I was pissed off but it should be ready to be picked up tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
We are off to the beach hut this weekend and I can't wait. My holidays are fast coming to an end.

Stats for the week-
Monday's run-1k warm up, I walked. Then I ran my first ever full 5k run in 9 years. Far. Why I ever stopped I have no idea. It was slow but there has been an improvement in my speed by as much as 60 seconds and it was fairly consistent through Monday's run. Let's hope I can keep it up.
Wednesday was hill repeats.. What the fuck. Those that have seen my try and conquer Logan Street in the past know that I always cry trying to do this. So while I didn't make it all the way to the top, I did make it 2/3 of the way up, 10 times. Run up, walk down. It was slow. It hurt.
Thursday-On ya bike Old Girl! Those that know me well will know this is where I will struggle. If I am going to miss a session this will be the one I miss. Time and again. So obviously this is where I need to do my most work. In the last 9 years I have ridden my bike about, let's see, 3 times! It has probably been more because I did do some training for the Roller-Coaster ride a few years back. As you can see it was slow. Very slow. My gears stuck, probably due to lack of use.
I don't think the above photo quite reflects how rooted I was at this stage.
Friday was my first brick session. It was cold. So fucking cold. It took all day for my fingers to thaw out. Next time I will be wearing gloves. I don't care how much of a dick I look. Again not fast. and I had to back it up with a run. Check these pathetic stats below.

There was very little running. It's hard to run when you need to go to the loo. It's hard to run when your legs feel like lead. I need to practice this over and over again. I need to be able to run off the bike like there is someone chasing me.
In conjunction with the above workouts I have done a PT on Tuesday, a boxing class on Wednesday night, A leg workout at the gym Friday and a tabata workout at the gym last night. Today I can't move. Everything hurts. I am scheduled a stationary bike workout today which I may get done later or will do tomorrow.
For the first time since I decided to lose weight and started doing PT's (56 weeks now) I can acknowledge how far I have come. I always but roadblocks up when it comes to giving myself credit. I should be stronger, I should be faster, I shouldn't be so fat, I should be able to do more by now. It has taken me a long time to get to where I am now. I hope I can maintain this positive attitude and outlook that I have found.

Lot's of exciting things going on. This week has seen me run my first non stop 5k in nine years. A consistent speed increase by one minute per kilometre. Winning. Should easily cut another 90 seconds off that by June next year. A tough PT session in Bowen Tuesday morning, hill repeats yesterday and a boxing class last night and a very slow and sucky bike ride this morning. All the stats to be uploaded and added in to this post later today.

Wednesday July 15, 2015.
So grateful not to be sore and achy from my PT yesterday. I have boxing this afternoon and I am looking forward to getting back to my gym buddies. I have missed them while I was away on holidays. I also need to find a new boxing partner as my daughter who is my regular boxing partner has flown the coop. Now I have to break in a new partner. LOL. Was pleased with my scale weight this morning, bang on 88kg. Progress pics-
photo on the left was in Brisbane around 2009, weighing in at 110kg but probably more. Photo on the right was mid June 2015. Around 88.5kg
Photo on the left is July 7 2014. The day after I decided to change my life. Photo on the right is March 2015. The day I cracked 90kg.
And this is the weekend after the photo above after completing a small triathlon without bloody training for it. I was talked in to on the day it was being held. I was supposed to be helping the Race Director, but she talked me in to competing.
And this is the end of May doing Obstacles Gone Mad in the Whitsundays with my Friends, daughter and her boyfriend. I didn't think a year ago I would be able to do the things I am now doing. Winning!
